Inspired by the mysterious temples, forgotten islands, and hidden caves of old adventure stories—places where a seemingly ordinary idol might conceal a secret button, a hidden mechanism, or a passage to something long forgotten.

The STASH MASK is my interpretation of that idea: a solid white oak wall-hanging sculpture with a fully functional mechanical secret built into it.

At rest, the mask appears to be asleep, its eyes closed and its expression almost lifeless. But pull the concealed lever, and the mask awakens. The eyelids open to reveal milled brass eyes that seem to gaze directly back at the person who disturbed it—like you've awakened something ancient that perhaps should have been left alone...

At the same time, the teeth retract to reveal a hidden storage compartment inside the mouth. There are no motors or electronics—the movement is entirely mechanical, with both actions driven by a mechanism designed specifically for this piece.

The mask is 12" wide × 15" tall × approximately 4.5" deep, machined from solid white oak with an aged, white limed treatment and then individually hand-finished and assembled. Every component, including the internal mechanisms that operate the eyes and teeth, was designed by me, CNC-machined, fabricated, and fitted by hand. Engraved brass details inside the mouth and a numbered brass edition medallion complete the piece.

The hidden mouth compartment is approx 2.15" deep x 3.3" tall x 7.5" wide.

The mask can be set on a level table top or shelf, or can be wall mounted with the included wall mount. Please note...the Stash Mask is HEAVY. It weighs a little over 10lbs.

Each mask is unique, with natural variations in the wood grain and the handmade finishing process. The mask pictured is an example of what yours will look like.
